Pirate Hat Tutorial

Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you the little pirate hats I made for my daughter's 3rd birthday party last weekend. These were a HIT at her party, all the little kids loved them. Not to mention it only cost me a few dollars to make 16 of them! The party store in my town was selling paper ones for $2 a piece, sheesh! I think mine are cuter anyways, haha.

I used:

Cricut Expression
Cricut Gypsy
Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge
Craft foam
Small Hole Punch
Elastic string
White cardstock
ATG gun

She was one happy little Birthday Girl! I made her dress as well with my Singer Futura Quartet sewing/embroidery machine. I LOVE my machine! Video tutorials for that in the future. I used a pillowcase dress pattern for the dress and some 1 inch grosgrain ribbon for the straps.

These are the invitations I made for her party using the Cricut and Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.

This is the Pink Pirate Ship cake I made for her! She was SO excited about her cake. It was my very first time using fondant, so it wasn't perfect but she didnt seem to notice, she told me it was her "Best Birthday Ever!" I made homemade marshmellow fondant and colored it with Wilton coloring gels.

Thanks so much for watching! I appreciate all the followers and wonderful comments!

Pirate Applique Dress

I have been very busy today! I got a Singer Futura Quartet embroidery/sewing machine a few months ago and I absolutely LOVE it! This was my 1st applique project and it was much easier than I thought! I bought a few applique designs from PlanetApplique.com yesterday, so I will be posting some more projects I made with these in the next few weeks... The pattern for the dress is a "pillowcase" dress, I found a free template online I used for it. Today was my 1st time using my rotary cutter for cutting the fabric, all I have to say is WHY DIDNT I HAVE ONE OF THESE SOONER? lol.. If you do any sewing, i highly recommend investing the $30 and getting one. My cuts were perfectly straight, I never could have gotten those results with scissors!

Here is a close up of the applique

This is the dress :) SUPER simple pattern too!

I have more "pirate" themed projects I will post in the next few days, its my daughters birthday theme..

Birthday Card and a Hair Bow

Hi everyone! Today was my little cousins birthday and I decided to make her a monogrammed hair bow to match the dress I got for her. Any excuse to use my new embroidery machine, lol.. I also made her a cupcake b-day card w/ envelope too.

I used the Create a Critter cart for the cupcake and welded it with my gypsy! Love my gypsy, a DEF must have! There is just endless customizable possibilities with it.. Okay now I sound like a salesman, lol..

Hope you all like it, I appreciate all the wonderful comments and followers! Happy Crafting!

Baby Sling I made this weekend :)

I recently upgraded my sewing machine to the Singer Futura Quartet and this is my 1st project I made with it! I've never had an embroidery machine so it took me a few days to learn the machine, but it was worth it! I absolutly LOVE this machine!

I made this baby sling for my newborn Lillie. She loves it! I also made a handy pocket on the front for me, haha.. I added decorative stitching around the edges and around the pocket for a little extra detail. I'm pretty happy with it considering it was my first on my new machine.

I hope you like it and get inspired to start or take up sewing again :)

My 1st homemade birthday cake!

This past year I took a stab at cake decorating for my daughter's 2nd Birthday and I have to say it was alot of work, but well worth it! Nobody could get over the fact that I made that! Oh, and only the head was from a shaped pan, i had to sculpt and free~hand the rest of her body!

Hand painted Lady Bug jewelry box

I hand painted this jewelry box to match my Niece's bedroom :)

I got the unfinished box at the craft store along with the wooden letters and wooden lady bug, the rest I hand painted to match the decor of her nursery.

My 1st Hair Bows and Binkie Holders

This is a basket that I made for my sister~in law for my nieces baby shower, filled with my custom made hair bows and binkie holders :)

Some cute "buggy" hair clips, these are so easy to make & so cute!

Here are some adorable binkie holders with matching hair clips, can you tell I like to ribbon sculpt :)

This little guy was put on a binkie holder :)

My 1st "Army Wife" bag!

I am a proud Army Wife and when I saw a few ladies that had these I knew I had to have one! They are a little pricey so I made my own and love it! Seeing how I can't see my husband in person everyday for the next year, I can at least carry a little piece of him with me everywhere I go :)

Adorable You!

Happy Monday! I haven't done any stamping with my Peachy Keen stamps in a while so today I decided to use them! Oh they are so much fun, and so cute! I just love the way this card came out. For some reason my camera doesnt catch the colors too well, but you get the idea! I am entering this card into the Peachy Keen Face it Friday challenge.

The required element was to incorporate faux or real stitching. Since my sew machine weighs about 50lbs, and my hubby isnt here to get it out of the closet for me, I couldn't use real stitching but the faux is just as cute!

For this card I used:
*Zooballoo cricut cartridge
*Peachy Keen stamps Everyday Charecter and Basic Paper Doll
*Craft chalk for the shading
*Poteeka Souffle paper stack from The Paper Studio
*Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls embossing folder
*Sentiment is from the $1 bin at Michaels

I hope you like it! I appreciate all the wonderful comments and new followers! Happy Crafting!

Blog tip: How to link your blog url to your profile!

Hey ladies! I was having an issue with my blog profile not showing my blog url. For example, if you click on my picture from a blog post, all that came up was the blogs I follow, NOT my own blog! I know it makes it hard for me to find my followers blogs because it doesnt show thier blog url when I click their picture on my followers list. So I figured others may be having the same problem as me and I would share how to fix it :)

How I fixed mine:

1.Go to the "Blogs im following" page on your dashboard, at the bottom click the "manage" button.

2.Click "settings" button next to one of the blogs.

3.On the page that pulls up click "add link", its located just under your picture.

4.Another box pops up to enter your blog url and a space to name your link.
Click add then you are all set!

This updated my profile on ALL my blogs so I only had to add the link to one blog.

Doing this will make it MUCH easier for potential followers to find your blog :)

Today I made this "thank you" card for the C-18 Swirls & Twirls Challenge & Fantabulous Cricut embossing challenge. I was very excited to use my new My Pink Stamper stamp sentiments I recieved :) I just LOVE the color combination!

I used 2 different Cricut cartridges, the butterfly is from Storybook & the swirly twirly is from Elegant Cakes.
